Alys Young is a PhD candidate at Deakin University modelling the distribution and dynamics of threatened and culturally significant species on the Tiwi Islands, NT.
Alys graduated from a Bachelor of Science majoring in zoology in 2017 and a Master of Science in ecology in 2019 from the University of Melbourne. For her masters, she researched the drought refuges of malleefowl. She has worked as a research assistant on various projects regarding ecological modelling and creating shiny apps. She lives on Bunurong country.
