Dr Andrew Baker is Senior Lecturer in Ecology and Environmental Science (@ QUT) and is Honorary Research Fellow (@ QM). Andrew is co-editor of the Field Companion to the Mammals of Australia (New Holland: 2013) and wrote the dasyurid chapter of Volume 5 (Marsupials) in Handbook of the Mammals of the World (Smithsonian/Lynx Editions, 2015; Winner of the 2016 Whitley Medal). Andrew is co-author of a new popular science book on the Secret Lives of Carnivorous Marsupials (CSIRO, with Chris Dickman of the University of Sydney) and is currently co-editing a new edition of Mammals of Australia (New Holland, with Ian Gynther of the Queensland Department of Environment and Science). Andrew is the author of a book on the philosophy of science (Questions of Science, 3rd edition, 2012, Pearson), has co-authored more than 50 scientific publications and written more than 30 popular science articles. News releases from 2018 encapsulating his research have reached an estimated 750 million people in more than 30 countries.
