Cathy Offord

Cathy Offord manages the Australian PlantBank at the Australian Botanic Garden Mount Annan. https://www.rbgsyd.nsw.gov.au/Science-Conservation/Australian-PlantBank Her work focuses on germplasm conservation and horticultural research.

Cathy has published widely on ex situ plant conservation (including seed banking) and has a growing research program on threatened species translocation and rainforest conservation. She has been instrumental in the 20+ year history of conservation research on the iconic threatened species, Wollemi pine. Cathy was joint editor and lead author on the national germplasm conservation guidelines:
