Hannah Fraser is a post-doctoral researcher in the School of BioSciences at The University of Melbourne. She is equally passionate about conserving Australia’s
endemic ecological communities and improving ecological research methods. Hannah research focuses on eucalypt woodland communities in south-eastern
Australia and the birds that inhabit them. Conserving these communities is a complex endeavour, so she routinely works using mixed methods including
expert elicitation, statistical modelling and decision theory. Her PhD focused on understanding the composition of the woodland bird community and
culminated in nominating the woodland birds as a Threatened Ecological Community under the EPBC Act.
