Heini Kujala is a Senior Research Fellow at the University of Melbourne, Australia. Her research focuses on spatial conservation planning and how to prioritise conservation actions at the landscape level. She has worked closely with spatial optimization problems and how to translate these complex concepts into effective conservation practices.
Under NESP TSR Hub, she will co-lead the research for developing better biodiversity offsetting practices and producing a spatial conservation plan for Christmas Island. Heini's research also covers climate change impacts on species distributions and how to make conservation decisions under uncertainty.
