Jane leads a team coordinating and implementing threatened species recovery in the Queensland Government, Department of Environment and Science. Her experience is primarily with threatened mammals and birds, focusing on recovery planning, species prioritisation and strategic on-ground conservation actions.
Most recently, Jane led a collaboration between Queensland Parks and Wildlife, WWF-Australia, James Cook University and the Northern Bettong Recovery Group to develop fire management guidelines for endangered northern bettong habitat. Before undertaking her PhD at the University of Queensland on threatened species policy and the economics of biodiversity conservation she was a policy analyst for the Wentworth Group of Concerned Scientists.
