John Wright, as manager of Parks Victoria's terrestrial ecosystem research and monitoring program, sees integrating research and management as the basis
for well-informed decision making and better conservation outcomes.
He works actively with researchers from more than 10 partner institutions to establish collaborative projects addressing real world conservation challenges.
Adaptive management provides a powerful approach to actively target these challenges and also address critical knowledge gaps. John has played
a major role in establishing a range of adaptive management programs targeting pest plants and animals, as well as restoring ecosystems that provide
important habitat for threatened species.
