Patrick has recently commenced his PhD with UQ on the ecology of the buff-breasted button quail. Over the next few years he will focus on unraveling the secrets of what is one of Australia’s rarest and least known birds. He is primarily interested in developing an in-depth understanding of this species so that appropriate conservation action can be taken.
He is no stranger to the cryptic life of button quail, having spent the last three years studying the ecology of the black-breasted button quail.
