Rachael Collett is a Phd student at the University of Queensland, with interests in mammal ecology, biogeography and conservation.
Her PhD project is looking at a number of Antechinus species in Queensland to try and determine why we have several threatened species restricted to small areas of mountain top, while others are widespread. Two threatened Antechinus species, A. argentus and A. arktos, have only recently been discovered so we currently do not understand what limits their ranges.
Rachael is also researching arthropod seasonality, to find out what drives seasonality patterns and how it affects carnivorous marsupial life history, distribution and rarity.
