Stephen Kearney is a PhD candidate at the School of Earth and Environmental Sciences at The University of Queensland, working with CBCS, GFS and NESP TSR Hub. Through his thesis, Stephen looks to understand how we can improve the response to Australia’s extinction crisis, and is advised by Professor James Watson, Dr Josie Carwardine, Dr Vanessa Adams and Dr April Reside.
Stephen’s research is primarily focused on Australian threatened species and includes high-level analyses of threatening processes; national, regional and local-scale spatial analyses; as well as site-specific threatening process research and management, with a particular focus on feral cats in arid Australia.
