Zahra has been fascinated by fauna from a young age, which has fostered her life-long passion for biology. She is interested in further investigating the
applications of genetics, particularly in the context of species conservation. Zahra has recently completed a Bachelor of Science with Honours, majoring
in Conversation Biology and Genetics, at the University of Western Australia. Her work combines population genetics with population viability analyses
to generate predictions of population survival for one of Australia’s threatened marsupials. Outside of research, Zahra volunteers with community groups,
mentoring and helping develop projects created by young people who are passionate about the environment.
